Liptauer

Ingredients:
  • 50 dkg ‘Rögös túró’ (lumpy curd cheese)  
  • 2 dl sour cream  
  • 10 dkg butter  
  • 1 red, brown or white onion 
  • 1 Tbs. ground paprika  
  • 1 tsp. cumin 
  • salt 
  • 20 dkg sour cream  
Preparation:

For the Liptauer, we smash the ‘Rögös túró’ (lumpy curd cheese) in a bowl, then fold in the sour cream and the butter. We peel the red onion and grate it in the creamy mixture. We season it with the paprika and the ground cumin, salt it and mix it generously. We chill it for a few hours and consume it as a cold spread with bread and fresh vegetables.
